In July, Sanaë and I travelled to Minneapolis with our really good friends Ben & Jo. We were celebrating our friends' Sush & Sheetal wedding, take two, after missing wedding take one in India earlier this year. Sush, Ben & I shared a tinbox apartment for a year shortly after we had all moved to New York - and now we enjoy seeing Sush all grown up!
FRIDAY
6AM Rise and shine!
9AM Try again... Rise and shine!
11AM Check out the glorious North Loop, bricks, crumbling paint, big loft stores, & all the trendy restaurants.
We really enjoyed the Foundry Home Goods, full of random little things and a lot of fun for photos too.
We met many animals over the course of our travels and even made a couple new friends.
3PM Lightning visit to Minnehaha Falls via our speedy Surrey.
7PM Fail to get a table at Spoon and Stable. Too bad, doesn't that bar (below) look nice?
7:30PM End up at the Bachelor Farmer instead. No regrets, we loved this place!
9PM Izzy's Ice Cream, best enjoyed in Gold Medal Park at sunset.
10PM We met our friends at Indeed Brewing Company for some great local beer.
SATURDAY
10AM Minneapolis boasts an amazing farmers market next to the Mill City Museum, right on the banks of the Mississippi.
12PM Lunch in the park, enjoying some snacks from the market.
1PM The Mill City Museum is housed in an incredible, partially restored mill that shut down in the 1960s. Apparently in its boom years, the mill ground enough flour to bake 12 million loaves of bread a day.
3PM Stroll around Lake Calhoun. Truly Chicago isn't the only Midwestern city that knows how to enjoy its summertime.
